Lead Seals

HEWCO #2 PLAIN LEAD SEALS

THESE SEALS ARE SUPPLIED WITHOUT AN ATTACHED WIRE: 3/8″ (9.5mm) diameter. Available in multiples of 100 or 1000. Use for water, gas and electric meters, valves and pumps, transfer hoppers, sprinkler systems, scales, aircraft and automotive parts, wire tags, signs, etc. and in forest, mining and chemical industries. Each seal has a pair of holes drilled through the edge for inserting both ends of seal wire securely wrapped around your security item and crimped closed with our compact sealing pliers.

5/16″ (7.9mm), 7/16″ (11.1mm), 1/2″ (12.7mm) and 9/16″ (14.3mm) diameter plain lead seals are also available by special order in a minimum quantity of 1000.

HEWCO SEALING WIRE

FOR USE WITH THE ABOVE HEWCO LEAD SEALS: 26 SWG .016″ (0.40mm) diameter galvanized steel wire wound in a 3-ply assembly and supplied on a 250′ (76.2M) spool. This 3-ply wire assembly has a total diameter of .040″ (1mm).

Copper, galvanized steel, monel (nickel/copper alloy) and stainless steel sealing wire is also available by special order in the following specifications.

2-ply assembly made from:  27 SWG .014″ (0.36mm) diameter, 26 SWG .016″ (0.40mm) diameter, 25 SGW .018″ (0.64mm) diameter or 22 SGW .025″ (0.64mm) diameter

3-ply assembly made from:  27 SWG .014″ (0.36mm) diameter, 26 SWG .016″ (0.40mm) diameter, 25 SGW .018″ (0.64mm) diameter or 22 SGW .025″ (0.64mm) diameter

4-ply assembly made from:  27 SWG .014″ (0.36mm) diameter, 26 SWG .016″ (0.40mm) diameter or 25 SGW .018″ (0.64mm) diameter

Specifications above are for one wire. Therefore the overall combined wire diameter of 2, 3 or 4 ply assemblies will be larger.

HEWCO COMPACT SEALING PLIERS

FOR USE WITH ALL LEAD SEALS AND SEALING WIRE: Measure and cut the sealing wire to the appropriate length you require, slide it through your item(s) to be securely sealed and then place each end of the wire through the holes in the lead seal and crimp the lead seal flat against the wire securely using the Hewco Compact Sealing Pliers. The sealing pliers have both an upper and lower flat steel die which pushes again the lead seal and can be used as is or we can engrave either die with specific information such as the initials of your Company, Name or a Year or Date Code as required.

HEWCO #25 LEAD SEALS WITH 8″ WIRE ATTACHED

Hewco #25 3/8″ (9.5mm) diameter lead seal with an 8″ (203mm) long, 26 SWG .016″ (0.40mm) diameter galvanized steel wire wound in a 3-ply assembly attached. The 3-ply wire total diameter is .040″ (1mm). Available in multiples of 100 or 1000. Use for utility meters, taxi meters, instrument meters, computers, etc. Each seal has a hole drilled in the lead portion for inserting the free end of the attached wire securely wrapped around your security item and crimped closed with our compact sealing pliers.

Lead seals with copper, monel (nickel/copper alloy) and stainless steel wire attached is also available by special order in the following specifications.

5/16″ (7.9mm), 3/8″ (9.5mm), 7/16″ (11.1mm) or 1/2″ (12.7mm) lead seals with either a 2-ply, 3-ply or 4-ply wire assembly attached made from 27 SWG .014″ (0.36mm) diameter in:  6″ (152.4mm), 10″ (254mm), 14″ (355.6mm) or 18″ (457.2mm) long.

Specifications above are for one wire. Therefore the overall combined wire diameter of 2-ply, 3-ply or 4-ply assemblies will be larger.

HEWCO #51 STOCK FREIGHT CAR SEALS

Use for securing shipments on bulk tankers, trailers, railcars, containers, intermodal & sea containers, lockers, tote boxes, fibre drums, etc. US Customs approved. NSN #5340-00-081-3381. Applied without the use of any tools. Cannot be disengaged by intrusion or manipulation. Cut with metal shears to remove.

Tin plate steel security seals sold with pre-stamped “SECURED” and sequential numbering. (No choice of number start with Hewco Stock Freight Car Seals). Available in any quantity you require in multiples of 100 or 1000. Double wire locking mechanism provides a high level of security and increased tamper resistance. Seal dimension is 5/16″ (7.94mm) wide x 8-1/2″ (215.9mm) long. Useable tail length is 7.25″ (184.2mm). Fits closures larger than 0.32″ (0.81mm). Average linear breaking strength is 155 lbs. (70.3kg).
